believe me when i say that i have much better things to do with my time than post negative reviews online and i want to support local businesses, but this company crossed the line. i regret ever having taken my vehicle to them. i spoke to a couple of their mechanics and they all seemed nice and capable, but there is absolutely NO JUSTIFICATION for a 600% markup on work. furthermore, i have to wonder if there was ever any problem with my battery at all. i suspect that the problem always was with the starter, but now i have invested money in a new battery as well as $430 for overpriced non-essential work.
I decided to give them a second chance and got a quote for replacing a seal in the coolant system on the side of the engine. The quote stated that they would need to replace a seal behind the distributor as well, claiming that the seal and hose i needed replaced would require them to remove the distributor assembly. i decided to get a second opinion, and wound up replacing it myself, by simply reaching my hand around the distributor assembly... where there was plenty of room for both my hand, and the needed tools, and accomplishing the entire job in less than half an hour.
Only place I will go
i took my van to them, thinking there was a problem with the electrical that was draining the battery. they waited several days to work on it and subsequently the battery was dead. they tried to sell me a new battery for $125 but i decided to buy one myself. when they gave me a price of over $400 for doing a few things (including looking at the swivel seats, fixing some wires in the door and putting a cigarette lighter in - THIS DID NOT INCLUDE FINDING THE ELECTRICAL DRAIN which was why i brought it to them in the first place) i told them to halt all other work. two days later, i got a message from them saying that the starter on the vehicle was bad and that i could get a new one for $650 or an after market starter for $600 - these prices did not include labor. i refused, picked the vehicle up, started it and drove it home. now LISTEN CAREFULLY...i called Auto Zone to get a price for a starter on this vehicle and the price they gave me was $86.99 for a BRAND NEW starter with a lifetime warranty.
I would never bring another vehicle to them, and will gladly tell others not to as well.
life is hard enough and it is difficult to live on one income, disreputable companies like this make it so much harder. if i could give them no stars, i would. shame on them for trying to cheat people like this.
Amazing staff and amazing care on my car! I loved dealing with this team and business. I feel like some people who leave reviews for car care get upset when their car actually needs work or when the business is looking out for them and quote them a price on what it will take to fix their car. Some people don't want to hear the truth. Wondering why some people even go to a mechanic if they are going to complain and then try and do the work themselves anyways, doesn't quite make sense and just shows they don't ACTUALLY know what they are doing if they took it to a mechanic first. This business isn't out to rip people off, the owner is an honest Christian man who has lived in Lewisburg his whole life and attends a local church. His family is very involved in the community. To the people who came on here to rant a dishonest (partial story/their side only) review.. I hope people don't actually believe you because I bring my BMW 3-Series here and also my Jeep Wrangler Unlimited here. I won't go anywhere else.
BEWARE of this company. they are guilty of price gouging and unscrupulous business practices. THIS COMPANY GOES BY THE NAME OF SERIOUS AUTO SOLUTIONS. i don't know where the name k & d automotives comes in but Serious Auto Solutions is the name on their sign.
Used them twice. Never again. First time i went to get my brakes and rotors changed. I gave them the make and model of my car and they quoted me a price. After they got my car up on the rack and torn apart they tripled the price saying "we didn't realize you had THOSE types of rotors." "those type" being the standard for that model.
